A drone maker from Wilsonville aims to combine two rising strengths, unmanned aerial systems and virtual reality of Oregon tech scene in his startup.
“If people can do VR from a drone you can have an experience and sense of place and view it in VR goggles all around (you),” said Mark Dana, of VR Drone.
VR Drone LLC is being established by three representatives of Aerial Technology International team in the year 2012 and unfolds itself as an early player in emerging drone industry as well as Portland drone hobbyist scene.
The VR Drone team has come up with their own concepts, they have designed and are set to build an unmanned aerial vehicle which comes out to be more stable than those already present in the marketplace. They also have the drone outfitted with cameras capable of capturing videos in 360 degree with high quality, also the videos can be combined together to build an immersive experience of virtual reality.
The idea behind concept is to build a drone through which immersive effects could be achieved. As the existing attachment send the drone’s motor vibration to the video and the pivot action of the UAV as it turns.
The design of the drone is still unwrapped since the company is still in the queue on its patent application.
Meanwhile the startup is all set to pitch investors towards its technology. The group is focusing on entertainment and media companies to be their expected customers and also plans to cover market such as law enforcement, search and rescue, structure inspection etc.
